We hope you enjoy our authentic Creole cuisine prepared with only the freshest seafood, beef and poultry coupled with seasonal fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Our restaurant is locally owned and we are proud to have opened in 2008 after Hurricane Katrina destroyed most of our city. This is an investment of love and hope for the future of our beloved New Orleans. Because you are dining here with us means you are you are helping the recovery too. We truly appreciate your support.
In New Orleans, we use the French word lagniappe that manes "a little something extra." Here is a little lagniappe for you to enjoy with your meal.
The Creole Skillet is located in the Arts/Warehouse district of historic New Orleans. This building is over 200 years old and was originally the site of an old cotton warehouse, receiving goods for the residents and merchants of the French Quarter from ships on the mighty Mississippi River. Looking through the large windows today, you can still catch a glimpse of a ship sailing on that same river.
The Creole Skillet housed the offices of the 1984 World's Fair. Later in, it became True View Coffee House successfully presenting live theater and stand up comedy for many years. Today, The Creole Skillet is a full service restaurant serving tourist and conventions visitors as well as our beloved local diners. The walls, floor, and even the bathrooms are adorned with the created and talented works of Mexican born local artist, Frederico Salas. The bead art is by local artist Lee Parfait.
