In 1999, X&O European Trattoria opened in downtown Quincy. This marked the realization of a longtime concept for a restaurant with European flavor on the South Shore. X&O filled a new niche in the heart of downtown Quincy - bringing big-city style and savory continental cuisine south of Boston. The formula became a hit with area professionals, lovers of Mediterranean fare, and anyone seeking an antidote for the predictable routine of chain restaurants. This vision, now in its eighth year, has recently opened in its new location in Stoughton and continues to exert a cool cosmopolitan influence while remaining easily affordable. It becomes clear immediately that X & O is a unique restaurant. A distinct metropolitan flair is found everywhere, from artistic light fixtures hanging from the ceiling to the fully stocked bar that runs the length of one of many sections in the restaurant.
