Brothers Jon and Joe Yun have joined efforts to create a unique dining experience. Their innovative menu and delightful personalities serve as the foundation of this popular west side restaurant.
It all began when Jon Yun was a part-time assistant cook in the original I Love Sushi restaurant. After deciding to pursue a career as a sushi chef, he left the Pacific Northwest to gain valuable training in Los Angeles. After two years studying with some of the industry's masters, he returned to Beaverton and purchased the restaurant where he once worked.
Joe Yun has been a top sushi chef for more than a decade. He has exhibited his talents at a number of Portland area restaurants, but the builk of his experience has been at I Love Sushi. With his natural ability, it wasn't long before Joe began creating his own fusion style sushi.
For those who like a broader assortment of Asian flavors, I Love Sushi also serves a variety of fusion based cuisines. Incorporating Korean and Chinese ingredients and techniques gives the restaurant some of its distinctive tastes and styles.
Many local professionals have made I Love Sushi their regular lunchtime retreat. With its relaxed and informal environment, it is also a comfortable place for families. The indoor fish pond is a favorite with children.
At I Love Sushi, people often enter as customers and leave as friends. As you make your way toward the door Joe and Jon often skip saying goodbye. They prefer, "See you tomorrow!"
