We are proud to announce that in March 2007 we will be moving to create The Prime Cut Meats & Eats Restaurant and Bar. Our new facility will serve up to 140 guests inside our restaurant, bar and patio areas. We will continue to offer USDA choice beef, poultry, pork, veal, lamb and handmade sausage as well as other specialty items in our old fashioned butcher shop. I was bored one day and decided to get into the restaurant business. So I set out to look for a place to make it happen. After a few years and a few beers of searching and researching along with a lot of help from my family and a few friends in the construction businessGreenhorn Grill is the result.
So sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings; tall trees, clean air and most of all, the best steaks and seafood in Kern-tucky.
All our beef is 100% Certified Angus Beef Brand (CAB), the top 8% of all choice and prime beef graded by the USDA. Everything is made fresh here on the premises, right on down to our soups! That's rightsoups are made from scratch, not a frozen bag or can. Grandma Helen wouldn't have it any other way.
One day, during my research I came across a redwood water tank that was built in 1927 and used for water storage at the Johnsondale sawmill. I thought if we could use the wood it would add an instant piece of history to our brand new place.
So, Grandpa Jim and Debbie began building the tables and after endless hours sanding and polishing I think the results speak for themselves.
In the lobby you will find an original menu from the "Zombi Hut", a fine restaurant in the city of Sacrament that my Grandpa ed owned in 1952 until his passing in 1986. It was a unique place with an island atmosphere where everyone always had a great time. There must have been something in the water or maybe it was the wonderful experience growing up there that somehow inspired me to come to GreenHorn Mountain. His commitment to his employees, customers and food was unsurpassed. So my dream is for his legacy to live on.
From time to time, we plan to re-create items from his menu for your enjoymentso "Stay Tuned".
