Margaritas is a solid Mexican restaurant on the corner of Broadway and Jefferson, and they just added an outdoor eating area, which will be really great once construction wraps up in the downtown area. Their chips and salsa are great, and their agua frescas vary and are usually really good. Margaritas had become one of my favorites this summer simply because their taco salads are so gi-normous and so tasty. But the true standout on their lunch specials menu is their Huevos Rancheros. Words can't do it justice. Huevos en fuego. It's phenomenal!!!

Legend has it that Roosevelt Tamale Parlor was started in 1919 by a Dutch immigrant who so admired Teddy Roosevelt, that he named this San Francisco restaurant after the 16th U.S. President. Since 1919, Roosevelt Tamale Parlor has survived as a legend in its own right a venerable San Francisco institution that has been patronized by loyal customers for decades. Today it is run by Chef/Owner Hector Flores (Don Pico's, rib shak), who purchased it in 2005 and gave it a much-needed face-lift. The dcor is tasteful, warm and inviting at this affordable, upscale Mission District Mexican restaurant.Roosevelt's menu still emphasizes tamales (7.95 to 9.95), but you can now order delectable specialty entrees such as Carnitas Yucatan (11.95) and Steak Ranchero (11.95) along with the traditional combination plates (6.95 to 9.95).
