The Blue Plate opened in 1999. Envisioned was a casual neighborhood spot where friends and neighbors could enjoy the best ingredients our seasons have to offer.
The garden and dining rooms are constructed from found objects, local materials and elbow grease. The comfortable interior frames the work of San Francisco artists and provides a casual venue for enjoying good food and good wine.
Most importantly the kitchen stays committed to using the highest quality local produce and meats in their classic American and rustic Mediterranean dishes. Through a working friendship with Bay Area farmers, the Blue Plate in San Francisco is expanding the notion of blue plate special to include dining that is casual, affordable and responsible.
The Blue Plate wines reflect the artistic qualities of the food. Our fifty bottle list has the highest quality wine for the best value. Mainstream wines are avoided so that we can offer indigenous varietals from specific growing regions, without prodigious prices. Expect great tasting wines from almost anywhere at all, ready to drink and reasonably priced.
The Blue Plate accepts reservations for dinner service Monday - Thursday from 5:30 to 10:00, Friday and Saturday from 5:30 to 10:30 and Sunday from 5:30 to 9:30.
The Blue plate accepts reservations for large parties and special events for up to 50 people. Parties larger than 6 may require special consideration or be of limited availability. Triptych has takes the Folsom Street neighborhood to new levels with delicious cuisine, creative atmosphere, outdoor garden brunch and an art gallery showcasing the works of San Francisco's local artists.
In addition to candlelight dinner 7 nights a week, Triptych offers a fantastic weekend brunch, plus on Mondays, in the outdoor garden, as well as Tuesday-Friday lunch in our dining room.
