MAWA's Taste of Africa Restaurant is dedicated to bringing you the best of African food. Located in Morrisville, N.C., we are in the heart of the Research Triangle Park, minutes away from Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Apex and Chapel Hill. You can enjoy your meal in our quaint dining room or experience it in traditional African style in our cozy corner on comfortable mats (no chairs). We suggest you complete the experience and try your meal without utensils. It can only be described as SIMPLY EXOTIC.
Our menu is rich and diverse with tasty dishes from all over Africa as they reflect the indigenous traditions, as well as many influences from around the world. Our Senegalese dishes have a great deal of French and Asian influence. The North African specialties have a touch of the Arabic culture. Kenyan cuisine tends to include a lot of Indian spices such as curry. Further down in Mozambique, the enticing flavors are distinguished by the Portuguese. Finally, the South African cuisine is called 'rainbow cuisine'.
Out signature meat patties have brought us customers from far away and our Tropical Lemonade is simply the best. Come experience out hearty stews, savory soups made with unique combinations of vegetables, lamb, goat, chicken, seafood and authentic spices.
