Salvatore! What a pleasant surprise we had you last night! A friend said we should try this establishment for some good home style Italian food. He was right. The special with the capers, chicken breast and penne with the light cream sauce was to die for. Needless to say, we were very impressed and will visit the restaurant frequently. We also greatly enjoyed the Barbara D' Alba. Very fine choice of vineyards and without question, very easy and delightful drinking. Having spent 7 years in the wine importing business in the 70's, I always look for a great bargain while dining. This in my opinion was just that, a great value. We'll go back for dinner soon.

Capone's Cucina History"Since I was a kid, I've always loved to cook" -Dino At age 16, Dino started making pizzas and lasagnas for his family and friends. When neighbors kept coming back for his traditional Italian cuisine, Dino realized he had a special gift.Since that first "restaurant" in his mother's kitchen, Dino has cooked all over the world and settled in Huntington Beach, CA. When he first left home, Dino wanted to open his own restaurant, but saw how other chefs struggled so he decided to go to dental school and leave his dreams of cooking behind. Halfway through school, he decided to open a restaurant to help pay his tuition bills. Once he had his own kitchen, Dino knew that he'd never go back to the dentistry program.Capone's Pizza and Pasta opened in Westminster in 1997. It was at this location that Dino expanded his repertoire and added specials to the standard menu. Customers were hooked on Dino's ability to transform everyday ingredients to culinary works of art and they couldn't help but come back again and again.He sold Capone's Pizza and Pasta in 2000 and moved to Huntington Beach where he opened Capone's Cucina with a goal of creating a more gourmet dining experience.In 2002, Dino hired friend and fellow chef, Francois Lieutaud to create a unique paring of French and Italian cuisine. The combination made for an old world European feel and customers loved the larger selection of dishes. Though Chef Lieutaud has left Capone's Cucina to open his own restaurant, the French menu is still going strong and offers the best rack of lamb in Orange County.Though Dino has always catered, he's now equipped to offer his services to larger area and his catering menu is available online. Capone's Cucina is also proud to announce the planned addition of outdoor seating.

As the proud Owners of Opus, we have the distinction of retaining one of the truly great Italian chefs of Orange County. Chef Manuelo Perez has been preparing fine Italian gourmet creations since his days (circa 1970) at Matteo's in Southern California. He carries the tradition that was famous to the famous in Newport Beach and Hollywood. He also created magnificent dinners at Bella Cuchina in Anaheim Hills, California for many years. So many of his loyal patrons have visited our restaurant to continue the tradition! We are very pleased to retain him as our head chef.
We have been a part of the Orange business community for nearly five years and have enjoyed wonderful friendships here in the heart of Orange County.
