Chef Alain Bennouna offers a new understanding of Mediterranean cuisine with his restaurant, Zitoune (voted by Westchester Magazine's Best Mediterranean Restaurant 2009). The word Mediterranean means "Middle of the Earth". This is because the Mediterranean Sea lines the coasts of Europe, Asia, and Africa, collecting the various traditions and recipes into a sea of cultural exchange that has been stewing for centuries. The saturation point can be found in Morocco. Zitoune demonstrates the sum of these influences, offering a wide, sophisticated, and healthy menu complete with fresh seafood dishes, tender meat tagines, and many vegetarian options all spiced with the flavors of the world, but never actually spicy. Together with the creative cocktail menu, lavish dcor, and attentive staff, this makes Zitoune a great place to travel for the night.

Like a rose that blossoms out of a sidewalk crack, Tagine Dining Gallery sweetens the theatre district with an exotic and alluring perfume. Moroccan lamps, hand-woven Berber textiles and cushy seating create an understated elegance. Habitus of the restaurant/lounge steep themselves in the Maghreb, sipping luscious orange blossom sangria, savoring fragrant tagines, entranced by belly dancers and hookah pipes. What a shock to step outside, following this amazing mlange of sensory delights and find not camels and dunes, but rather midtown Manhattan! We offer cooking classes, wine tasting, private parties, and henna nights. We have gay nights and live DJ's in our lounge! Come see us soon!
