Welcome to Buck's, we hope that any time you come in is a chance for us to make it special.
When Buck started the restaurant he wanted to create an experience for our guests that they would never forget. He had always admired "moon gardens", which are all white flowers gardens, so he painted the walls dark hunter green, added lots of candles and filled the bar with white flowers. Put that together with a fine continental menu, artfully mismatched china and nightly live piano music and Bucks Restaurant was born
Buck's is in the heart of Old Louisville and located in the historic Mayflower building. We are well known as the place to be for special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries. We love to do parties of any kind, from rehearsal dinners to business meetings and have private rooms for about any size group. We also do catering on site or at your destination if you wish.

Coach Lamp Restaurant & Pub

The building that houses the COACH LAMP RESTAURANT & PUB was built in 1872. Folklore has it that it was used as coach stop in and around that time.
At the turn of the twentieth century in became a General Store selling seed, yard goods, feeds, and other general items of interest needed for that time. This is not folklore; we know this to be true!
In 1937, Louisville experienced the "Great Flood" and Dominick Maier owned the Swan and Vine Bar located just down the street. After the flood, his bar was destroyed and he moved into business to what is now the COACH LAMP RESTAURANT & PUB. Maier's Bar and Grill was known for its roast beef and mashed potato plate, a tradition we still carry on to this day.
When Dominick retired, he handed the business down to his sons. They added the back bar, which is from the Post Office on Broadway and they also added the pink ceramic tile which we uncovered in 2000 during our first renovation.
In the mid 1970's, two local attorneys, Bill Clemens and Adrien O'Brien, acquired the bar and sold it in the late 1970's to Don and Phil Workman. The Workman's subsequently sold the bar to Peggy and Jim Clark, who operated it for the next 18 years.
In November of 2000, the current owners Gail and Billy Darling, bought the business and have carried on many of the traditions from previous owners as well as introducing new ideas, such as the eclectic dining you are about to experience.

Centuries ago in the province of Mongolia, the Mighty Khan's hunting parties would camp on the banks of the great river Khan-Balik. After days devoted entirely to hunting, they would gather in droves to celebrate their successes. Communing in banquet style pavilions, the Mongols would prepare slivers of meat and vegetables by slicing them with their razor sharp swords. They would then cook their food by searing it on their overturned shields that were heated by a blazing fire. The Terrace Restaurant features fine seafood and steak selections along with monthly dinner specials. Our Executive Chef searches the area for fresh ingredients that will enhance your dining experience. The Terrace also offers a fine selection of wines and spirits to complement your meal.
