MR. G'S OPENED IN 1970 ON THE TWO-LANE STATE ROAD 7 UNDER THE NAME OF GOONEY'S PIZZA. IT WAS THE ONLY RESTAURANT IN THE AREA OF MARGATE AT THAT TIME. GOONEY'S PIZZA WAS SUCCESSFULLY RUN FOR 3 YEARS WHEN OWNERSHIP FIRST CHANGED HANDS. THE NEW OWNERS, THE MARGOLIN'S, DECIDED SINCE THE AREA WAS RAPIDLY GROWING, THEY OUGHT TO EXPAND THE MENU BY ADDING TRADITIONAL PASTA DISHES.
