Gus O'Connor's Public House
Irish
42875 Grand River Avenue, Novi, MI, 48375

|
Welcome to Gus O'Connor's, the largest authentic Irish Pub in North America. Gus O'Connor's was designed and built in Waterford, Ireland (home of Waterford Crystal) by O'Sullivan Interiors, one of only five Guinness approved authentic Irish Pub builders in the world. The finished pub was shipped to the States and received by the same Irish craftsmen who built her and then resembled her here in Novi, Michigan. Gus O'Connor's is full of history. Take special notice of the floor boards located in the raised seating area on the first and second floors of the Pub. These boards were harvested from the Guinness warehouse located in Dublin and are over a hundred years old. The Liscannor Stone used for flooring near the fireplace at the main entrance are from the fishing village of Liscannor on the western Atlantic seaboard of County Clare. The stone occurs in the quarries along the edge of the cliffs of Moher. The timber of the fireplace mantels were harvested from a shipping channel in County Waterford. The stone tiling throughout the Pub is from County Cork (home of the world's oldest yacht club and Murphy's Irish Stout). At Gus O'Connor's we are telling the story of Ireland's rich history. We celebrate pub culture, a culture of hospitable surroundings, good food, good drinks, and a friendly conversation, what we call "Craic". Gus O'Connor's is open seven days a week and specializes in traditional Irish fare. Ask us about our special rooms available for your next event.

The Blarney
Irish, Tavern
601 Monroe St. at Huron, Toledo, OH, 43604
|
|
The Blarney is one of Toledo's truly authentic pubs. Visiting over 35 pubs in Ireland in March of 2006 inspired owner Ed Beczynski to open an Irish Pub in Downtown Toledo, Ohio. Finding the right building in Downtown was the key, if opening an Irish Pub with an old feel to it was going to work. The building was found by publisher and owner of The Toledo Free Press, Tom Pounds who The Blarney and The Toledo Free Press bought and split the building together. With the Free Press above The Blarney it was a perfect fit.The Blarney Irish Pub opened in November 6 2006. All the furniture and many items on the walls were bought in Ireland and shipped to Toledo to make our guest feel like there at a pub near The Blarney Castle in County Cork Ireland. While in Ireland Ed learned how important was pouring a perfect pint of Guinness and in the first 5 months has sold over 150 kegs of this roasted barley drink! Also while in Ireland, Ed realized that what made a pub great was the music. The Blarney Irish pub has live music Thursday thru Saturday. Celtic Irish bands play 2nd Saturday of each month with bands from Canada, Detroit, Ann Arbor and Toledo. The Blarney also provides hearty and delicious fare like you'd expect from an Irish Pub. Irish classics include: Bangers and Mash, Potato Latkes covered with corned beef and served with sour cream, Fish and Chips, our own special pilled high Celtic Reuben, and more. Traditional Pub items are also featured including fresh burgers, fresh, crisp salads, a variety of sandwiches, and steaks, seafood and chicken entrees. Don't forget about our 15 draft beers, there's something for everyone. So pull up a stool and grab a pint. We look forward to serving you at The Blarney.
