For us sports and food always went hand in hand. For years we organized tailgate parties and events, where we grilled up tons of food, marinating it in our own sauces, spices and ingredients. Chili was always our favorite creation, and usually the centerpiece of the day.
Our Chili slowly evolved over the years from game to game, altering the ingredients and finally coming up with the Smokehouse Original Chili recipe. We also realized that chili was the perfect topping for so many other dishes. We started smothering almost everything on the grill with chili and cheese and creating more combinations to compliment the various chili recipes being used.
Our events in lot 13A at Yankee Stadium and Lot 2A at GIANTS STADIUM as well as parking lots around the country became huge. Everyone seemed to try to get the recipe for the chili, which we never gave up. It remains a secret to this day. We are passionate about chili and love various styles in addition to our own recipe.
We attended chili cook-offs and contests, traveled to famous chili parlors and finally decided to put our passion into a business, on July 4th, 2007, Smokehouse Chili & Grill was born.
This July (2008) Smokehouse Original Recipe was voted BEST CHILI in Westchester County by Westchester Magazine.

Mariano Rivera moved to New York in 1995 with his wife Clara, from Panama. To become a pitcher for Major League Baseball's New York Yankees. Rivera originally began his Major League career as a starting pitcher in 1995 for the Yankees. He has become one of the best closers in Major League history. Being new to New York he made close friends immediately. Friends that later became his family.
New York Yankee Mariano Rivera met Joe Fosina in 1995 when the star closing pitcher needed a ride from Yankee Stadium. Joe has worked since the 1970's for the Yankees, he does their reconditioning and alterations of their uniforms and equipment. Since Mariano had recently arrived from Panama, he wasn't sure of how to get where he was staying in Westchester from Yankee Stadium. A club official asked Joe to drop Mariano off. The ride allowed for a genuine conversation to take place, and later an amazing friendship.
Joe Fosina introduced Mariano to the family. Joe and his wife Mickie soon came to include Mariano and his wife Clara into their large family of 5 boys and 1 girl. Gary, one of Joe's sons and Mariano both had a passion for food. Gary and Mariano became great friends, through their love of food and passion of baseball.
In July 2006 Mo and Gary Fosina joined forces with Brandon Steiner of Steiner Sports Memorabilia and the doors opened to Mo's New York Grill. The restaurant has an outstanding Contemporary American menu with variety, including the Panama Special, a taste of Mo's home land, and the legendary baseball spirit of New York. They both envisioned Mo's as a destination for fantastic cuisine and a legendary sporting atmosphere. Mariano has captured the heart and vision of New York's world famous team in a stunning gallery of photographs featured throughout the restaurant. Exceptional thought went in to the Championship event room, the sporting events come alive through their photos.

Most of the inspirations for my recipes are of Italian, Asian or Indian origin, a product of my New York childhood, where the public transportation system allowed me to wander the city at will. As any native will tell you, New York is not one large city, but rather a collection of neighborhoods all crowded up next to each other. As a young teen there was no greater adventure to me than to explore those neighborhoods and discover some new (to me) ethnic enclave and its indigenous cuisine. My culinary style tends to lean towards those cultures predominant in New York, although I have also studied European, African and Middle Eastern cuisines as well.
Cooking has always been a big part of my life. My parents both loved to cook, and the heart and soul of our house was the kitchen. Now, my folks didn't cook like other kids parents, who made 10 or 15 meatballs. No, in our house meatballs were made in batches of 200 or more - 30 for dinner and the rest to be neatly packed away by my overly organized mother and frozen in the huge freezer in the basement. And when it came to making sauce, that was an all day project, requiring the presence of my aunt and grandmother to help my folks create 60 gallons of thick red liquid gold, again neatly sealed, labeled and placed in the freezer. From a young age our freezer was the Mecca of food in our home. Actually, it was more like Fort Knox, because the freezer had a lock. And for good reason: there were five young boys in the house. Luckily I learned how to pick that lock at a very early age. I would sneak into the basement and help myself to a meatball or eight, run up the stairs like a spy on a secret mission and pop the in the oven for a quick treat.

Since Palmer's Crossing was established in 2002, our goal has been to bring a high quality, unpretentious dining experience to the Village of Larchmont. We concentrate on substance, and insist on using top-products and the freshest ingredients. Whether coming in for casual fare (a great burger or margarita pizza, for instance), or dining on such choices as Sweet Potato Encrusted Chilean Sea Bass, Filet Au Poivre, or Mezzi Rigatoni with Lobster, the same care and concern is put into the preparation of your meal.
Our Executive Chef, Vito Facciabene is classically trained; yet, he is always creating new dishes and is very accommodating to special requests and diets. When time permits, he loves to check on your table personally. Our friendly, attentive staff works hard to serve you, as well. The high level of our service is something in which we take great pride.
Another aspect of Palmer's that sets us apart from other restaurants is our spacious bar area. Palmer's Bar is a great place to meet to enjoy one of our specialty martini creations, or to select a bottle of wine from our extensive list to share with good friends during dinner. Be sure to savor the evening with an after dinner cognac or cordial. Recently, Chef Facciabene has added a menu especially for bar patrons. While we still offer our full menu in the bar, our new "Palmer's At the Bar" menu offers terrific appetizers selected specifically to accompany your drink of choice. Be sure to check it out.
