The name "Minj" is formed from our family, Matt, India, Niki and Jordyn. Minj Grille opened August 16, 2005. The atmosphere you will experience is so appealing because we are family owned and operated. We want you to feel at home. Everything here is home made. I want to be sure that the taste I intend is delivered in every dish. A key attraction for this casual dining restaurant is my "secret-recipe" homemade wing sauce. I began making my special sauce ten years ago for family and friends. Two years ago, on a whim, we decided to vend at a local football game. The response was overwhelming. It was amazing. People began calling us at home for 20, 40, 200 wings and to cater their parties. We haven't stopped selling since then our kitchen suddenly became too small; we had chicken coming out of our ears!" Level 2 is a chic, affordable, white-linen restaurant located at 113 South Elm Street on the second floor over Much Martini Bar. From inside Much, one ascends steel stairs bordered by rock walls and a waterfall to the sofa bar and lounge replete with distressed plaster and exposed brick walls. The lounge is connected to the main restaurant via an open bridge spanning the lower level. Very dramatic.<br>To one side of the dining area are private booths draped with gathered white sheer fabric which also adorns the opposing brick walls and the restaurant throughout. Suspended lighting is muted by billowing fabric and the backlighting changes color periodically. The forward dining section of the restaurant is intimate, tiered seating with windows overlooking Elm Street.<br>Chef Mark brings to Level 2 an eclectic menu of continental cuisine and regional comfort food skillfully prepared. He has designed a menu that offers extensive appetizers that double as a Late Night Menu that is served from 10 pm to 2 am. Appetizers include: Seared Scallops with Fennel Salad and Saffron Aioli; Mussels Fra Diavolo; Fried Goat Cheese Baby Spinach Salad with Rasp-berry Vinaigrette and more. Entrees offered include: Cowboy Steak; Grilled Filet with Potato Terrine and Truffle Butter (the potato terrine rocks!); and Seared Duck Breast with Bing Cherry Zinfandel. When we first decided to go into owning a restaurant, we decided it would be best to make the restaurant an extension of ourselves.
Teresa, being an Irish immigrant from county Roscommon, Ireland, immigrated in 1967 to the United States.
