Three Guys from Miami bring you Cubano's, Silver Spring, MD Jorge: If you are in Washington, DC and want to take a ride on the Metro, why not take a ride out to Cubano's restaurant in Silver Spring? Glenn: This Cuban restaurant is located just a couple of blocks away from the Silver Spring Metro Station. From the Smithsonian Station, we took the Blue Line to Metro Center and then took the Red Line to Silver Spring, a trip that took about 20 minutes.Jorge: Cubano's is a nice, quiet restaurant that serves good Cuban food in a nice atmosphere.Glenn: We like the waterfall fountain, it's a nice touch!Jorge: This used to be a Chinese restaurant, and the fountain was purchased in Mexico to add little Latin flavor. The sound of the running water adds to the atmosphere!Glenn: Cubano's does something nice with tostones, serving them as an appetizer -- or a complete meal -- with shredded chicken and a delicious garlic-rich sauce. It's kind of a Cuban version of nachos.Jorge: The ropa vieja here is almost as good as your mima used to make. The meat is slow cooked so that it is very tender. The shredded meat is tossed with pepper, onions, and chopped tomatoes.Glenn: Also notable are the masitas de puerco and the pargo -- red snapper nicely done, and fork tender.Jorge: You get a generous portion of food at Cubano's, especially if you like frijoles negros and white rice, the standard side dish. Be adventurous and order the yuca con ajo, the starchy tuber in a pungent garlic sauce.Ral: This is a dish your tongue will remember in the morning.Glenn: This is NOT the dish to order if you're on your first date!Jorge: Save room for some tres leches cake or flan for dessert!

We want you to be transcended into a dining experience that you will not soon forget. We strive to always surpass our guest's expectation, with our exceptional service. Here, as it always should be, our guests are our friends and will always be treated with special care and courtesy. Allow the sounds of the spicy Latin beats take you to the Caribbean, where everything is relaxed. Here you may dine romantically, with your family, or linger with friends sampling our signature Tapas from Spain accompanied with our freshly made Sangria! Ole! Now you may be asking yourself what is a Mojito? Or for that matter, what is a Tapa? Here is a brief explanation, although tasting it is a whole other story! The best way to describe a Mojito, is it is a close cousin of the Mint Julep. Born in Cuba, it is a refreshing cocktail served with fresh mint and fresh lime. A muddler is used to infuse the flavors of rum with the mint and lime. A splash of soda add the bubbles! Mmmmmmmmm! Cheers to Ernest Hemingway, who is best known for bringing the cocktail to South Florida in the late 50's. Hey, check out our signature "Mojito Menu", we have the largest selection north of Havana! Now, as for the "Tapas", they are small irresistible mouthfuls of something savory, recommended to be served with a chilled white wine, beer or Sangria! They are the national institution of Spain, eaten with enthusiasm in almost every bar and restaurant before lunch and dinner or as a late night snack...whatever your choice of Tapas- they are for sharing and lingering. Eating Tapas goes hand in hand with hospitality, friendship & lots of conversation. Enjoy the experience!
