Welcome to the Manila Restaurant & authentic Philippine cuisine. The unique flavour of our food is not well known internationally. One of the reasons for this is that many of the ingredients considered essential by Filipino cooks are difficult to obtain in most countries. Unlike other Asian cuisine, the Philippines offers an Oriental-Latin blend arising from its rich Spanish/Malay/Indigenous heritage. Add to this the more recent American influences and we have the interesting result found at the Manila Restaurant.
In a word, Philippine cuisine is full-flavoured though not essentially spicy-hot. Filipinos mostly keep their chilli separate for individual taste & add this from side bowls. Food is eaten banquet style - all sharing foods from the centre of the table and not served in predictable 'courses', but all at once. Our dishes when fried are lightly fried in polyunsaturated vegetable oil. No MSG is added and all natural ingredients are used. Enjoy! All dishes on our menu are available for 'takeaway'.
