Sonny's started out in 1959 on Webster Street in Mont Pleasant, then moved to a 1000 square foot location at 146/146A Price Chopper Plaza in 1980. Surrounded by a pizza house and 2 Italian restaurants, Sonny's rapidly became the most popular Italian food restaurant in Clifton Park.
Many people remember the lines of people waiting to pick up pizzas and specialty Italian dishes passed down from our family' recipes. After 10 successful years in that location, Sonny's was sold and subsequently closed in 1995.
After coming back to New York from Phoenix where I was in the publishing and printing business; I went to work for Sonny, my cousin, at The Sand Trap at Van Patten Golf Course in 1999. I mentored under Sonny and learned to create our family's traditional Italian recipes.
In 2000, I purchased a restaurant located in the Malta Mall off Round Lake Road in Ballston Lake. Like the rising Phoenix bird; Sonny's was revived in June 2000.
We are now entering our 8th year. Two new restaurants have opened in 2007, Burnt Hills and Stillwater. It is our pleasure to expand the tradition of fantastic food and generating smiles on many people's faces. It is our pleasure to continue the great tradition of serving our Italian specialties based on our family recipes. Our facility comfortably seats 80 for your dining pleasure. We also offer take out and catering.
Most of our customers say our Pizza and Spaghetti Sauce is the best of the best in the area. We hope you too will try us and see for yourself.

Papa Joe's Pizza is made from an old family recipe. We start with Papa's famous Pizza dough that's made on the premises, fresh every day. Then we add our own Pizza Sauce, made from the finest whole plumb tomatoes and spiced the way Grandma did. We only use 100% Mozzarella Cheese, and for the finishing touch we use only the best toppings we can find.
Grandma made us this style pizza the same way she did in Sicily before coming to this country, it's the pizza our family grew up on. Blend of secret spices, Fresh garlic, lots of Parmesan cheese topped lightly with olive oil. Add any topping for an absolutely delicious pizza from the old country. Great starter to any meal or a meal in itself.
