Liberty Hotel is a place which, through years,has graciously served a colorful range of people-from old Italian settlers to mine workers and World War II Veterans.Built in 1922, during World War II, when Camp Stoneman was here,the Liberty Hotel Restaurant was the hottest night spot aroundfor soldiers to frequent.
In recent years, when the City of Pittsburgattempted to condemn this unique Victorian-style hotel,a lover of old art and antique architecture,with a clear vision of tommorow,put his heart and soul into this building.
By restoring each piece, and custom making eachornament and chandelierto original, turn-of-the-century condition,he blew new life into this historical landmark.
Still original are the brick wall, staircase, beams, swinging doorsand tile floor, which has been assembled piece by piece.The upstairs has been converted to office space.The two bars are each 80 years old;the back bar is originally from Colorado,and the front bar is from Sonora.
