Definition: [mah-SAH-lah] A word used throughout India for a spice blend with myriad variations. It can refer to a simple combination of two or three spices (such as cardamom, coriander and mace) or a complex blend of 10 or more ingredients.
Our experience with Indian cuisine suggests that Indian food is characterized by the rich spectrum of spices in which it is cooked, giving the food its inimitable flavor and aroma. Spices have always been considered to be India's prime commodity and the usage of spices in India is recorded in Sanskrit texts dating back to over 3000 years. We are taking a step further in pairing the Traditional Indian culinary techniques with western ingredients to adapt it to Western styles of plating. We have termed our this journey into the culinary world as Indian Fusion Cuisine.
Masala is a beautiful location for both personal and business events. Located in the heart of downtown Danville, our elegant restaurant welcomes you with hardwood floors, white cloth napkins and table cloths and large beveled mirrors. We offer patio seating in addition to our large dining room, presenting some breathtaking views of Mt.Diablo.
