In 1969 an employee of two business men in Cedarhurst opened a pizzeria on Columbia Ave. After a year of slow business the employee convinced his Employers to sell him the business. The employee Marvin Gobetz, along with his wife Dorothy (AKA Momma Kelly), started a new adventure in life. Wife blood sweat and determination they managed to turn the business around. With business getting better everyday, and Dorothy striving to keep her family fully involved she introduced her children to the business; Mark, Glenn and Lisa. With Marvins' three rules of business: 1)always make the customer feel welcomed 2)Serve quality food 3)give the customer what they ask for. Marvin always made it a point to teach these three rules to his kids day in and day out so that they would make or better people to work with and be friends with. After years of success they decided to open a make your own' ice-cream shop. With Dorothy's desire to expand the menu to include home style cooking they realized that they needed to move across the street to expand on the space they originally had began with. This was a desire that wasn't only something on Dorothy's mind, but also on the minds of all the loyal five town customers. After thirty years of business, and the passing away of Marvin in the 1980's, Dorothy and her Adult children decided to move again to a bigger and better a location, which is now their current location on 490 Chestnut St. Even today Marvin's rules of business still remain as the number one ingredient. This is the brief but ever growing by the day history of Mother Kelly's.

The atmosphere at Sanibel recalls the fun of owner Patrick Kuhn's summers on Sanibel Island. He and partner Dennis Durdaller have created a destination restaurant that packs the joy of a vacation without getting on a plane. The L-shaped granite bar is the place to meet and make friends while enjoying a tropical Sanibel cosmo. Guests come early and stay late to soak up the friendly vibe and groove to live music on weekend nights. The dining room's cloth-covered tables and a fireplace offer a formal meal while wood top tables with striking red upholstered booths have a casual feel. The professional yet unpretentious service is a delight. Beach themed prints and oil paintings from Sanibel artists line the walls. The back room is perfect for private events and an outdoor patio expands the bar area in warm summer months. An elaborate, old-fashioned presentation of perfectly seasoned steak tartar includes accoutrements and an egg yolk nestled in its shell. The unique surf and turf chart offers six meats like filet mignon to mix and match with four seafood options, from traditional lobster tail to an outstanding Maryland crab cake. A 24 oz. bone-in cowboy ribeye fulfills steak house cravings; pair it with crispy fries and your choice of sauce. All the steaks are 21-28 day dry aged. Don't miss homemade Oreo creme brulee with crumbs of the famous cookie on the bottom. Order from the wine list including a selection of reserves or participate in their wine locker program.

Frank's concept is to be casual, but fine dining establishment with a reputation for serving the best quality and freshest foods money can buy. At a first glance our prices may seem high, but we offer a very good value for the money because of the high quality and large portions of the foods we serve.Part of our mystique is the homey atmosphere, theatrical lighting and youthful feelings inspired by the crayons and butcher paper table coverings. The artwork that surrounds the dining room comes right off the tables and has been drawn by our customers. The artwork is always entertaining and usually very creative. We are also known for our big round tables that can accommodate large parties and which promote a fun party atmosphere.
We have many signature items that customers come from all over the country to try. Our marinated Romanian Skirt Steak, our 44oz Porterhouse Steak, and a Roasted Country Chicken are just a few of them. We have a great reputation for our Prime Aged meats such as our New York Strip Steak, Marinated Strip Steak and our 26oz Bone-In Strip Steak. Our meats are hand selected by our own butcher who gives us the best center-cut meats from most choice prime aged beef for which we pay a premium price for. This is a big part of the value we offer to our guests. We also have a signature steak sauce that is so loved by the customers that we are considering packaging and marketing it to the general public.
