In My Own Words…
Tell us a little about yourself:
Women have told me I have nice legs, I'm surprisingly patient, and I can always be counted on to take responsibility in a crisis. I'm curious about what makes people tick, so I like hearing what they have to say. I love and respect the earth, people, and animals. I'm grateful for my life and my health, and I try to take good care of myself. I live alone, and I'm not tied down to an office; I can work anywhere with an Internet connection. Every decade is different: over the years I've played music six nights a week, taught college, had four books published, and worked as a graphic artist for a multinational corporation.
My turn-ons and what I’m looking for in a person:
Though most of my dreams have come true, meeting my other half would make me feel more complete. I want a woman I can lavish with appreciation and a traveling companion who's fun to be with, someone who appreciates how lucky she is to be better off than most people in the world. If you're an attractive woman who might want to meet me, I'd love to hear from you.
My favorite restaurants, local hangouts, or travel destinations:
I enjoy travel, probably more than anything else I do. Occasionally I get to party in places like Tokyo, Hamburg, and Hollywood, but most of the time I take more introspective vacations. I love hiking in the deserts of south Utah and shooting the landscape in the last light of day, and I have hundreds of photos to prove it. Some of my favorite places are the mountains of western North Carolina and the beaches of Ocracoke, Sanibel, and Kaua'i. I’m wild about just about any kind of seafood—oysters, shrimp, calamari, grouper—and all kinds of ethnic food—Japanese, Mexican, Italian, Ethiopian, Spanish, Thai.
My favorite music:
For more than eight years now I’ve been editor of a major music magazine, and I sing and play a little guitar and other instruments, too. I consider myself a very lucky guy, and I absolutely love my job (who wouldn't?). I also get invited to see a lot of live music. I love all kinds of music, including plenty of stuff you've probably never heard.
My favorite Books and Authors:
Bill Bryson is my favorite author. I like all kinds of books, but I mostly read (and write) nonfiction. I especially enjoy listening to audiobooks when I travel.
