Hi Funin, I've worked with grouds, made some wonderful birdhouses as well as Native American type pottery style. Get past the cleaning and they are a great thing to work with. Mariemc

there are some fantastic books available to check out"Mosaics" by Kaffee Fassett & Canace Bahouth and Martin Cheek has "design Sourcebook Mosaics" Cheek has a number of books that are really good reference material~~~good luck and I know once you get into the art you will be hooked!

Sorry don't you mean "Gourds" I'm sure it is just a typo. But wanted to be sure. Early native populations used gourds to fabricate all sorts of utilitarian objects. Like laddles , and drinking cups , bowls etc. there are many that have survived and are now considered works of art NYrocker
