Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

This book reminds me a lot of Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, the way society was kept stupid by the government, and the way people only see what they want to, and there are those who'll try to keep the status quo despite the fact the government is raping the rights of the people. Uglies takes place in a futuristic setting, in the small town of Uglyville. I suggest this book to anyone with a sense of adventure.

I have a nine-year old son and we just bought a book "Gregor the Overlander". I was reading it first just because he had to read it for school and I totally got hooked. Sometimes is good to read books you normally wouldn;t, you might be gladly surprised.

Angela Davis who was one of our black activist from last century, has written a neat book. The name of the book is "Women Race & Class".In the book she talks a lot about our black american history focuses on the history and status of black women in America. She talks mentions how black women were never respected as a "Woman" by the male slave master and some of them often outworked their male counterparts in picking cotton. Women also worked on the Louisiana levees.
