hardware is the engineering parts of your pc. But software malfunction can also cause this problem' just repair the window with the original cd that comes with the pc

my computer just goes off; mean restarts randomly, at first I was told its purely a software problem. but I'm geting convinced that its hardware, whats your take on this.

yes i think is a hardware problem because the hardware contains some device that can make the system not to function properly. Software can only cost networking problem.

hey check out if you memory it's the rigth one for your motherboar board. See if front side bus it's the same as your board in occasions when they aren't the same tents to cause this kind of problems. other wise it is better to format your pc and make sure that you have the rigth drivers installed which is another factor of causing these kind of problems. Another thing that you can do is go to your system restore and restore it to an early date when it had an good working date.

Sorry not here to get back to you earlier, but I have suffered the same error and would suggest that you run a memory checking utility. This type of error is usually caused my faulty memory.

First things first. Check all your connections. Inside the computer and out. If it looks connected unplug it and reseat it again. Sometimes this helps. Have you tried plugging the computer into another outlet? It could be a number of things. Power supply; motherboard. Overheating could definitely make the computer shut off. Fans might be dead or no airflow is getting in or out of the computer. If you haven't opened the computer in a while and there is a lot of dust you need to clean it out. Dust can stop airflow and it can also cause the circuits to arch and short out the computer. I hope this helps.

In most modern PCs if the CPU is too hot it will turn off, there's software that will show you the temperature (depending on what of you have). But usually it's actually a hardware problem. If you know how to, just start removing cards, changing memory sticks etc...
