I'd like to find someone to go hiking with. I spend 85 of my time in Philadelphia, 15 in Portland. Don't really know yet where to hike in the area. I think it is worth traveling a bit to find really scenic hikes but willing to do local ones too.

When in Vermont, I took a class in "Cross Country Walking". It's walking with hand poles (like cross country skiing). What a blast! Easy on the knees & back, great upper body workout. Now I just need a buddy to join me walking or skiing.

My husband and I have been hiking for about 3 yrs and we love it. We hike the mountains and trails of the east coast and we keep a moderate pace because we like to "stop and smell the roses" & take in our surroundings.
