i had to laugh at your dog owning u, my cat butter thinks the same, he even takes first place on the answering machine in our home, butter is a 12 year old tabby, who weighs about 32 lbs, a big lovable wosse, who looks like garfield, he loves other animals, dogs birds rabbits, he has no problem with any of them visiting our yard, he has two black birds that wait for him to go out, i think they love taunting him..

I have a Rottweiler named "Billie" she is 6 years old and my baby..when I come home from work she grins at me and starts spinning in circles..I have never seen her agressive towards any human, she loves children and Men. Everytime I hear of a dog bite incident I pray it isn't a Rott, Makes me angry when people train the dogs to be mean..

I think that the breeding of a pedigree has a lot to do with the personality of the dog. I have a friend who had the most softest overgrown sweetest ladygirl Rottweiler. Unfortunately she has now left us due to cancer. My neighbour has two - a female (gorgeous character) and a male. They both received the same attention but the male dog is totally anti cats and other dogs. Also it is starting to get aggressive with people althoug he seems to be crazy about me because I'm an animal lover and talk to all the animals as I do to my children. When I had to go and feed him last christmas holidays, as I offered to feed the pets, I'm convinced he thought his owners had left me as his toy and he was uncontrollable with jumping up on me - I had proof to show the owners - bruises all over my stomach.....but I loved it! It was rather cute.

Some two years ago, my neighbour asked me to 'baby sit' their parrot who was absolutely unfriendly and untouchable. I had him for 7 days and in those 7 days I managed to get kisses from him by offering him tea from my cup. I think he knew that I was wanting to share with him and took it as a sign of friendship and trust. Then a year later I had him again and guess what, I was in control and 'grabbed' him out of his cage (he'd never been out) and put him under the blanket with me. Before you think it cruel, I did handle him with tender-loving-care and respected his fears and uncertainties. Anyway, he 'seemed' to enjoy it and returned him to the cage after 10 minutes. Just five days ago I returned him home, again after having him for just under a month, and WHAT A DIFFERENT BIRD! The owner cannot believe it is the same bird - he cuddles, puts his head down for scratching, comes out the cage (still uncertain though) and 'squeeks like a baby bird does' with me. I've returned him home now and when I went to visit, I hurt a little to see that he wants nothing to do with me - he's hurt after all the excitement. I'm not normal when it comes to animals, sing and dance etc. with them, even with my cats. Animals love 'craziness'.....I'm convinced!

It just goes to show that even the smallest and "dumbest" of animals need love, care and attention. They are not ornaments to just be seen and not cared about but sentient beings. (I recently joined....is this a singles site?...seems very varied, but that's quite nice.)

me,me,me, US!!! we had the most precious, caring GR. She gave us 16 years of happiness. I saved her life from the Animal place where she was about to be put down when she was about 1 yr old. An amazing animal. Her name was CORAZON...(imagine!)

Hey anyone have an idea of what I can do. Here's what happened we had sewer back up. And it didn't reach the litter just made it hard to get to. My youngest cat 2 years started going else where. I finally convinced him to use his pan to a degree. He will poop in it, but pees beside it. Any ideas how I get him to do both. I am at my wits end.

this worked to a certain degree,,my vet said put silver tin foil on the floor around the litter,,but leave a channel for the cat to walk on, apparently they dont like the feel of the silver foil on their paws..always worth a try?
