I don't have any answer except maybe thinking that if you have more than one cat, they perhaps do not like to share the litter box. I've come across something amazing though to get rid of the odour.....vanilla essence in water in a bowl left in the room - amazing results in getting rid of the smells! (two teaspoons to 1/2 cup water)

Hey Nicoletta, Crystal here from Cape Town, South Africa. There's an old saying which I find hits the nail on the head. "You're no-one until you've been ignored by a cat". I find that cats tend to come in two distinct categories (no pun intended :)being, those who eat sleep and poop, and humans are here to ensure that all three go smoothly... And then there are those who act like mindless little love machines. I initially got cats because I liked their indepedent natures, but alas the Irony Faerie waved her little wand and blessed me with the worlds biggest Ma-ma's boy, whose whole life seems to evolve around me. My little girl is the perfect little love machine. "Anyone up for a tummy rub?". I've had mine for 17 years now, and our relationships have developed over time. Unfortunatley you're going to have to try to accept Effie just as she is and give her time. Respect her space, but make it clear that you are always able and willing to indulge in affection. You could try a little bribery and give her treats, but only on occaision (not all of the time). See if her behaviour changes on these occaisions. If they do, be affectionate when treats are involved, and basically, she'll learn to start sucking up, which will hopefully develope into real affection. Also try to take note of the circumstances surrounding those affectionate moments you mentioned. If you have toys, then try play with her regularly, even if it's just a few minutes every now and then. It may take time for her to allow your relationship to develope, but unfortunately you can't change who she is. She may be playing hard to get, she may just be a little snob... who knows. But love her unconditionally anyways :)

Is your cat a male? I'm not a woman's liber... but I know that the male cats are not so much in love with the humans as the females are. I treat each of my 9 cats in their own different ways although I would love them all to be affectionate. Maybe you should put a nice fluffy blanket on your bed at night, one that he/she likes the feel of, so that it will start with sleeping on your bed.....at least that would be a start of having him/her near to you. I cannot sleep without a cat on my bed and I'm 51 years old now. I always tell friends that because I was born at home I have a huntch that my mother had a cat on her bed when she suddenly went into labour and gave birth to me.....hence i love them to sleep with me.

Hi, I have a female pet mouse that's been dragging her behind on the ground for over a week now. She appears to be constipated from what comes out of her. She rapidly lost weight and is very skinny where you can see her bone structure and her muscles are deteriating, I am assuming because she doesnt go on the wheel much, when she does, it's just a few steps then she gets off where she used to run constantly for 15 minutes at a time. I'm worried about my little girl. Can anyone suggest anything? How can we get rid of constipation in a mouse?
