Would love some advice on running/jogging, only just started running in the last 18 months and love it, but I have yet to train for a half marathon, (I never go out jogging) I dont like getting out to run, once I am out I love it, but it is not high on my agenda (if that makes sense) but kicking my punch bag and such is always high on my list... When I have finished a half I am on such a high and love how I feel. I would like to feel like that more often, but need a push. I even sprinted the last 100 meters this time a very slow time, but I high fived as many people as I could. I even cried when people where cheering me on, what a buzz, best drug ever. I do lots of cross fit and martial arts, so am fit, but after a half I am unable to walk for a day or two (honestly) but that is only due to my legs not being used to running... So my question is any tips on how to just get out there and run, I am sure once I do get the bug there will be no stopping me, I just need some tips on how to get the bug... I just want to be able to push myself with running like I do with my other sports. I thought of suicides, back and forth to build up my legs? Sorry for the rant xx

I have been working for Running Room in Toronto for 3 years in between my job transition period. I am happy I worked there, it helped me a lot. I have a different sport portfolio but at this stage of my life running looks like the best things that suits me.

Posted by robertrdj7 on Dec 16, 2010: I was responding to the person who has a problem with hip pain after they run...2 possible solutions: 1.) perhaps they have damage to their pelvic area like I did.The v. a hospital in white river junction, vermont gave me a prosthetic hip 10 years ago.I am not supposed to run on it so I jog slowly.I realize it may cause the hip not to last as many years but I have been addicted all my life to running. 2.) Perhaps you can try switching to a high-quality cushioned sneaker like I use.I swear by "asics" running shoe.
