RE: A Single Parent of a 19 year old girl.... juin 14, 2009 from CoolGuyInUSA168   Burlington My oldest child will be 19 in july of this year and I can feel what your going through he didnt work at all throught school and had to pull teath to get him to go to school but he made it..he would be gone all night with out letting me know where he is he would take my car in ther middle of the night ot pick up friends( he didnt thing I could tell the car was moved)He had a lovely girl friend but he blew that because he would no be honest with her I foind drugs in my car..every day or week was a new journey into the unknown..I finally figures out that all you can do it raise then the best you can teach then the right things and then its up to them to pick and choise the right path.and pray a lot.

I am a single dad not by choise but it just happened to work out that way.I have been raising 3 kids alone now close to 11 yrs and it is not ez. I heard as the kids get older it gets ezer..I have not dated in 11 yrs staying home to raise the kids I look back over the yrs and wonder how I did it when people would say if you ever need help let us know and the few times when I did ask if they could watch the kids it always seamed that ..that day they were bz...I would not change a think my kids are my life and will be for a life time just nice to vent sometimes and glad I found this chat sight and board.

I have been seperated/broken-up for the last 2 years after a 13 1/2 year run.(but you wouldn't know this as my ex is over at my house everyday and on the weekends)But my mouth stays shut because when we were a "family" he never made or had the time to spend the "quality" time my kids needed (they are 12 and 10 now)so now when he makes the effort I allow him free access to them and our home we shared and we get along great now we seem to be better friends now then when we ever were when we were a couple! But I bend over backwards for this man but I am slowly getting back on the dating scene and his presence is well making me uncomfortable and if I tell him this he becomes upset when I tell him maybe it would be better if he took them to his house he punishes the girls by leaving and not seeing them or calling them for days.Seeing them upset at "what mommy did" I find myself calling him to say "sorry" because I choose to go with my life.NOT FAIR of him or me to keep this an on-going occurance it is wearing thin on me. Anyone have any suggestion's?or better one's I think I tried them all!
