Le Mistral's David and Sylvain Denis successfully recreated the quiet, relaxed atmosphere of their family's restaurant in La Revest les Eaux. Slow-moving ceiling fans gently waft the aromas from the kitchen and soft candlelight reflects off their mother's original oil paintings of the farms and orchards around their village. Chef Denis has taken many of his family's recipes and merged them with fresh Texas produce and American taste buds, but one family tradition at Le Mistral remains unchanged. Le Mistral Restaurant has carved a niche for itself on the West side of Houston with some of the finest French cuisine the greater Houston area has to offer. Le Mistral's offerings now boast an upscale bar with flat screen television; wine cellar off the main dining area that seats up to 10; a chef's table in the kitchen for those with impeccable taste who would like a completely individualized meal; banquet room for special occasions and business functions; and soon-to-be specialty foods store, called Foody's Gourmet, which will offer Le Mistral signature items, French specialty foods, cheese, wine, as well as cooking and wine classes.
A sampling of Le Mistral's dinner signature items include: Salad Mistral with Blueberry Balsamic Vinaigrette, Escargots, Seared Fois Gras, Veal and Spinach Ravioli, Rack of Lamb and Osso Bucco. The lunch menu also is extensive and includes an express lunch and business special daily for those with limited time. Desserts include French specialty items, such as Crème Brûlée, Chocolate Fondant, Crêpes, Tarte Tatin, as well as homemade ice cream and sorbet.

Achille Epifani was born in Taranto, Italy. He attended the world-famous school of gourmet dining and management, Scuola Alberghiera, located in Miano, while working at his uncle's restaurant. He left Italy in 1969 for New York City's theatre district to polish his culinary skills at Giambelli on 50th Street. Achille opened two restaurants in New York and New Jersey in 1976. In 1983, he brought his family to Houston to begin his third successful endeavor, Achille's on Memorial, specializing in fine Northern Italian cuisine. After almost 20 years of service, Achille decided to start a new venture called Achille Express. Achille Express specializes in authentic Italian food including pizza, Italian sandwiches, and a small deli.
