Chef Christophe Poteaux and Michelle Garbee (formerly Executive Chef and Pastry Chef of Aquarelle at the Watergate Hotel) are the heart and soul of Bastille. Their menu creations are based on a combination of traditions and modern interpretations. Bastille is contemporary, not an "old-school" classic French bistro. It is rather a typical "bistro gastro" (as so many great French chefs are opening nowadays): "A simple and comfortable setting with fine dining food at bistro prices".
